Jacki Putnam is a PhD Student focusing on the History of Photography and Modern and Contemporary Art. She holds a BA in Art History and Fine Arts from George Washington University (2015) and an MA in Art History from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2020), where she wrote an MA thesis entitled “The Problem of an Inclusive Art History: Reconciling the Universal and Particular through Photography.” Her research interests are in the history of photography and modern and contemporary art, with an emphasis on questions of epistemological decolonization and decoloniality.
