About

Liliana Olson is a Master's student in the Art History program. Her primary area of research is Oceania, critically examining the effects of nuclear testing in the Pacific on art, culture, and the environment. Her research also focuses on the art of Indigenous groups in North America, as she is of Cherokee ancestry herself. She is working towards a concentration in Museum and Exhibition Studies, hoping to make a positive impact on ethical and sustainable collection and exhibition practices.

Liliana comes from a creative background as a practicing artist and landscape painter. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine and Studio Arts from Hamline University, where her passion for art history was first sparked.

She also gained experience working at the Denver Art Museum for two years as a Youth Programs Educator, Provenance Research Aide, and Curatorial Staff Aide in the Native Arts department.
