About
Atakan received an MA in Art History from UIC. He previously received his BA in Management Information Systems from Bogazici University in Turkey, and he has a master’s degree in Classical Archaeology from Florida State University, having written a thesis on “Application of Access Analysis to Middle Bronze Age Palaces at Kultepe, Alalakh, and Ebla”. His primary interest is Bronze and Iron Age Anatolian Art and Archaeology. He joined Excavations at Spring Creek/Florida, Assos/Turkey, Kultepe/Turkey, and Yalburt Yaylasi Archaeological Landscape Research Project/Turkey. After finishing his MA at UIC, Atakan entered a PhD program in Archaeology at the University of Central Florida.
