Emmanuel Ortega, Marilynn Thoma Scholar and Assistant Professor of Art of the Spanish Americas at UIC, will be participating in a conversation on "Art, Latinidad, and Academia" at Northwestern University on Wednesday, October 13th, from 5:00–6:30 pm.

From Northwestern's website: The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) and Comunidad Latinx (CLX) invites you to join a virtual conversation with Dr. Emmanuel Ortega in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month. Dr. Ortega is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at the University of Illinois - Chicago, an art historian, a curator, and a former podcast host of Latinos Who Lunch. During this event, we will discuss Latinx art, learn about Dr. Ortega's academic journey, and hold space to discuss the realities of being Latinx in academia.
