Undergraduate Students Julie Herrmann and Sean Loach win departmental awards

Art History major Julie Herrmann's paper “Private Consumption and Public Conventions: Portrait of Ross in L.A.” written for Art History 301: Theories and Methods in Art History has been selected by the Art History faculty for the 2021 Art History Undergraduate Paper Prize. Julie’s paper examines the work of Cuban-born American artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres. This paper prize is supported by the David M. Sokol Fund for Art of the Americas.

Art History major Sean Loach has been selected by the Art History faculty as the recipient of the 2021 John D. McNee Award. Named in honor of a former faculty member in the Department of Art History, the McNee Award recognizes the recipient's academic excellence and dedication to the discipline of Art History.
